Course Length: 18 months Course Fee: £2,500 (including deposit) Deposit: £500 The Sugar & Spice Advent Calendar Box is entirely hand-made, 'from scratch'. Each compartment consists of an 'outer' shell, which is decorated with embroidery, and a 'lining' which is left plain. Drawers also have a 'casing', also plain. Strong card (2mm thick) is used for the structure, which is covered with 100% cotton. The final box will be extremely sturdy and long-lasting. Apart from the outer embellishment, designed to look like icing, the inner surfaces (drawer fronts, compartment lids) will be decorated with festive motifs. The front-facing drawers are based on well-known carols, whilst the top floor and attic compartments combine in larger motifs showing ornaments and seasonal flora. Freestyle 'surface' stitching, Appliqué, Goldwork and Stumpwork embroidery techniques will be combined and the construction will include all the major elements of hand-made box-making (drawers, including secret ones, hinges, trays, sections and pattern-matching). The Sugar & Spice Advent Calendar Box course is equal to 18 day classes with a total value of £2,700. The substantial kit with fabric, beads, ribbons, a large amount of gold, silk, and cotton threads, strong card and more, is valued at £650. Ongoing support via a virtual 'common room', plus 5 years of access to all class materials after the end of the live streaming has a value calculated at an additional £5,000. The total value is £8,200, but for this founding member launch, the total fee is £2,500. This fee includes the full kit, and if you book by October 30th, all of your card will arrive pre-cut and labelled. NOTE: Once you have paid a deposit, you will receive an email from me to confirm whether you would like to pay the remaining fee in monthly instalments of £125, or all at once.
